Song of Choice: The Power of Love: Huey Lewis and the News

SO... all of you know that when I see something I want, nothing will do until I have it. I get a certain satisfaction at purchasing things that I long for.. I dont know what it is.. I'm not very materialistic. I dont see the objects that I buy like my computer, my pocket pc, mp3 players of yore, video game consoles, or surround sound equipment as things that I LOVE.. Sure, I spend a lot of money buying the Nintendos, Playstations, and XBoxes as well as games for the respective systems (although I never did buy a Playstation game... bought the system on a whim and never really used it).. but I dont see a point in having money and not spending it, so I save up and buy whatever I have my eye on... it's always been that way.

sometime in the next 365 days or so, I will be looking to purchase a car. So what makes me (or anyone, for that matter) believe that my "buy what I want if I can afford it" phase will lift between now and then? absolutely nothing.

Enter DMC:

I've ALWAYS wanted a Delorean. I have to say that the Back to the Future movies made me, like many others, fall in love with them. Some people think they're ugly. And they ARE slow, only 135 Horsepower.. well, I guess I shouldn't say slow, just 'average'. But that's half the fun, because not only will I buy one, but that (like my computer) will be my own little frankenstein. I'd almost immediately do an engine swap, and change the transmission on that beast pushing it (easily) up to 250-300 horsepower... A friend actually wants me to put a 350 Chev engine in there, but because the engine is rear-mounted in a Delorean, and the front is the trunk, if I were to floor it, the front end would be facing the sky seeing as how there's no ballast to hold it down...

There's a bloke here at school that drives one. I drool every time I see him pull that gull-wing door down, and speed out of the parking lot. That's the first time I've ever seen one. They're quite a rare breed, seeing as how they were only made from 1980-1984. Then it was found out that John Delorean, president of the Delorean Motor Company, was caught embezzling a bunch of money for some Germans or something... I dont exactly know, but his company went belly-up, and with it his plans for a new car - the Firestar 500 (google it for some concept drawings.. pretty weird car).

Anyway, I just decided to proclaim here that I, Kyle Eyers, will soon(ish) be a member of the Delorean Motor Club of Canada.

Until next time.......
