Song of choice: It's Been A While - Staind (Thanks Anna!)

I read Anna's blog today and got that song and realized it fits... "It's been a while" seems to be a constant theme in my life...

Wow, lookey here... an update! Here goes..........

My life is weird right now. I have such great highs (now no longer drug induced, which is a good thing.. one thing that has 'been a while'..) and such low lows... I look at my life and I realize how full and wonderful it is, and yet there are some very essential things that pull me down.. Some are my fault, admittedly, but even discounting those... I dont get to see everyone as much as I would like. Here's an illustration.. I've been home for two months now, in the same city as Erin, and we haven't so much as even breathed a word to eachother. I know that's half my fault... But what is it that has happened in the last year to pull everyone that is so dear to me away? I dont see any of my highschool friends anymore... Hell, I can hardly send two or three messages to them on MSN on the rare occasions that I actually see them online before they tell me they have something more important to take care of, or another commitment.

What has happened to pull everyone apart?

Distance? Relationships? Employment?

< bitter>

It's funny... two summers ago, I was working 12 hour days, all day every day, and those who didn't have a schedule as busy as mine still wanted me to take them out and see them... So it cant be employment that is keeping us apart... And as far as relationships keeping us busy that we cant see eachother is a hilarious notion because sacrificing a friendship (or multiple friendships) for one single person is just plain silly to me... it has to be the distance - at least thats what i'm going to blame it on.. Fuck you, distance... Fuck you in your huge, self-proclaimed all knowing eye socket...

Enough of this...

< /bitter>

So here's the deal... I've spent the last two months looking for a job, and in the last three days I now have 4....

The Quiznos job you know about..

I found out that I could work in residence again at least until September.. This is probably a better opportunity than Quiznos - it's more money and more hours...

The third job is just temp. A friend of a friend owns a business in Mississauga that is moving. She needs people to help move their business, and I offered my services. It would only be a week and a half or so, but it's extra money...

And the fourth job is the one that I want the least, but pays the most. It's with my dad again. Now, it wouldn't be the accounting and payroll job that I had last summer, it would be field work. I'd be estimating. For example, if they're going to work on a parking lot, I'll go out and measure the lot and estimate how much material they would need to do their work.... fun stuff, not, but it pays 13 bones an hour... not too shabby..

So I'm thinking I'll take the moving job and my dad's job for the next couple of weeks... when the moving job is done with, I'll be able to start working at rez.... and maintain both jobs.. I think this will all work out..

And I have finally convinced my mom that buying a car isn't a BAD idea... so here's to hoping.....

I wanna write more, but class starts in 5 mins...

Until next time.......

Song of Choice: Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd

Alright.. here are the answers to my last quiz...

Actor 1 - "Fuck Me!!" Actor 2 - "Oh Darn..."
This was Speed, with Keanu Reeves and a lesser known guy. Keanu was looking under the bus, and the other guy had a phone and was relaying information to Keanu's partner... Keanu said his line, and then to be prim and proper the other dude says his.

"Hasta la vista, baby"
This was, as only a couple of you got (very surprising) Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2...

"Gots to squeeze the juice, buuuuddy!"
This one was more difficult... Pauly Shore in Encino Man.

"How would you like it if someone came along and tore an apple off you?"
Christa corrected my quote - it should read "tore something off you?" but I dont think any of you would have got this one if it said "something"... so consider it my gift to you :)... Wizard of Oz... if you just said that, I gave u 2 points.. because I assume you knew it was the tree that said it.. and expecting the actor's name would have just been too much to ask for.

"If it bleeds, then we can kill it."
This was the famous catch phrase said by Arnold in Predator.

"...I realized I prefer sausage to taco..."
Crazy German(?) man/woman from 50 First dates... none of you got this, so there's no need to complain about the name of the actress..

"ADRIAN!!!"
If you didn't get this one, you should be shot... Rocky (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5) and it was Sylvester Stallone.

"You think that's air you're breathing now?"
The Matrix.. Laurence Fishburne..

"Those were my magic shoes... they would take me anywhere."
Another difficult one.. No, it wasn't Wizard of OZ.... perhaps if I had written *said in a heavy southern accent* you would have got it?
Forrest Gump.. Tom Hanks.

"Now you're gonna get it, Bobby!"
Come on, People!!!! I dont think ANYONE got this! (although I could be wrong.. you know how bad my memory is)... Happy Gilmore! Adam Sandler.

Actor 1 - "A block past Maple? That's John F. Kennedy Drive." Actor 2 - "Who the hell is John F. Kennedy?"
Good for most of you.. Back to the Future.. Michael J. Fox's character talking to his grandfather back in 1955, trying to find out where the "Doc's" house is.

"Who am I? You sure you want to know? The story of my life is not for the faint of heart. If somebody said it was a happy little tale... if somebody told you I was just your average ordinary guy, not a care in the world... somebody lied."
A lot of you said something along the lines of "I should know this one...."
Spiderman - Tobey Maguire

Actor 1 - "Woah, wait. It's me."
Actor 2 - "Prove it..."
Actor 1 - "You're a dick."
Actor 2 - "Ok..."

X-Men.. Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) talking to James Marsden (Cyclopse).

Actor 1 - "Nice beaver..."
Actor 2 - "Thanks, I just had it stuffed."

If you haven't seen this movie - you suck... The Naked Gun - Leslie Neilson and Presilla Presley.

"Houston, we have a problem..."
Apollo 13 - Tom Hanks

"I do wish we could chat longer, but I'm having an old friend for dinner. Bye."
The best answer for this one came from David... "Marilyn Monroe".... sorry david... you were SO close.... it was Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal (The Cannibal) Lector in Silence of the Lambs.

"Isn't it funny - you hear a phone ringing and it could be anybody. But a ringing phone has to be answered, doesn't it?"
Phonebooth - Kiefer Sutherland

"Don't call me a mindless philosopher, you overweight glob of grease!!"
Famous movie, not so famous line from that movie (as it would seem.. I dont know if ANYBODY got this one...) Starwars - Anthony Daniels as C3PO talking to R2D2. Anna was the closest.. she assumed it was starwars, but thought it was Luke talking to Jabba... Close, my dear.. but not close enough for 2 full points :).

"Woah.." (have fun with this one)
ANY Keanu Reeves movie, but christa had to be different and pick the Horse Whisperer....

"Our father loved you more than me! Our father.... we are brothers..."
This one was a little unfair... so it shouldn't really be counted... there were two people saying this quote so it should read:

Actor 1 - "Our Father loved you more than me!"
Actor 2 - "Our father....?"
Actor 1 - "We are brothers......."

This one would be Kevin Costner and Christian Slater in Robinhood: Prince of Thieves...

Good on all of you who participated... thanks a ton - it was quite fun reading your answers :)

Oh yea, I got hired at Quiznos Subs today... Might help a friend of a friend move their business to another location... and might go help my dad out at work on the job sites..... what does this mean?

*vroom vroom*

I give it 2 weeks... then I'll be the proud new owner of my baby :)

Until next time.......

Ok I'm stealing an idea... but dont worry, I'm not totally being a stealer..

I've read on other people's blogs, and it seems to be a major thing now to do the whole "list 20 song lyrics, and have your readers guess which songs they are" deal.. well, I'm taking it one step further...

Movie Quotes!

That's right.. same deal.... 1 point for naming the correct movie, and 1 point for naming the actor who says it! (half a point for just naming the character). for a max of 2 points per question.

So here we go!
For those of you using Firefox, you might notice the form is a little misaligned - deal with it. =P (Edit - Problem has been fixed now.. thanks!)

Song of Choice: Collide - Howie Day

I have had a few things go on in the last couple of weeks that I'd like to tell you about / show you.

First off, March 1, 2005.. Anna and I went to a Jakalope concert at The Mod Club. She won free tickets from 102.1 The Edge and decided to take me (sorry Brian =P). It was a good show.. not what I was expecting at all... wait, that doesn't sound right.. I was expecting a good show, but the show itself wasn't what I expected. It was an all ages event, so only the bars upstairs were open.. The two of us kept it a dry night anyway, though..

Earlier on in the evening we went to The Edge to pick up the tickets - and there was Katie B and Dave from Jakalope on the air... I wanted a picture of the two of us with them, but Anna was too chicken =P.

Anyway, here are a couple pictures... There are a couple I took, and a couple that I got from the Edge website because most of mine came out fuzzy...

So that was my Jakalope experience... hehe Thanks Anna! I had a blast! =)

Seeing as how I'm into pictures here, I'd like to give you all a little tip..
if you're sending ANYTHING by Canada Post, doesn't matter what it is, please write "Fragile" on the box... I must warn you... you may find the following pictures offensive... and too violent for children..

VIEWER DISCRESSION IS STRONGLY ADVISED

I had the following box of DVD cases returned to me last week because of this:

When it ORIGINALLY looked like THIS!

So let this be a lesson to you... ALWAYS write "fragile" on the package, and ALWAYS buy insurance =)

Until next time.......

Song of choice: Kiss Me - Six Pence None The Richer

Sorry for the uninformative last post... I've recently been having to deal with a lot of inner battles. It's not demons, technically. All these issues that I have are all at a cause of me so I cant really place blame - as much as I've been trying to.

Tonight was blah. I was supposed to have beth over for dinner tonite and maybe a quiet night in watching a movie, but plans fell through when an essay that she has to do finally crept up on her. There's always another time, right? Hope so...

Saw David tonite - good to see him... always thought provoking conversation with him around...

I've got a pretty bad headache coming on tonight, too... This would be the first real migraine I've got since I've been home... stupid stress...

I've gotta go back out to Factory Direct tomorrow to buy more dvd cases... I've started selling again to get enough money to pay for the car (I'm so close!) which needs to be purchased before May 20... the guy I'm buying from is moving then so he needs it GONE by that day... the dvd case sales will give me that extra added cash flow (as small as it may be, but it's better than nothing) that I need while I'm in the process of looking for a job.... Hopefully I get that job at Spring Masters, the landscaping company that I'm looking into... There's a job fair on Sunday night, and it sounds like anyone who wants the job will be hired, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's something that I'm able to do...

Anyway, this started out to be an informative post but then I realized that I cant really write what I want to write.. Not here, anyway... Maybe some day, though....

God, I hope some day...

Until next time.......

Well, I tried out Ploggle and truth be told I'm not very happy with it. It takes a minimum of a few hours to actually have any emailed photos published to their site. That kinda takes the point out of the 'instantaneous photo posts'. I dont know if this is a 'forever' kind of thing, or if it is an issue that will be resolved. We'll see.

Until then, though, here is the address: http://www.omegaplog.ploggle.com

There aren't any photos up yet, but there will be at some point in time... I'll create a perm link on the left side there when I re-install photoshop.... That will happen after I format my computer this weekned.

Until next time.......

I'm going to be starting a new section on my blog called a PLOG...

what's a plog?

A Picture-Log... or you may be more familiar with the term MoBlog (Mobile Blog).

My plog will allow me to email photos that I take with my phone directly online so you can catch up on any exciting things I may be doing at that given time (well, those that are publicly displayable, of course ;) ).

The address for the new page is still being determined, but it will be hosted by a company called "Ploggle".... check them out at www.ploggle.com

Until next time.......
