Just got back from Subway (the sandwich place, not the TTC)...

I'm sorry, but does it really take one person to cut the bread, one person to get the meat and heat it, one person to get a drink, one person to put toppings on the sandwich, and one person to do cash?

so very silly...

Song of choice: Livin' La Vida Loca - Donkey and Puss

So I'm sure you're all wanting a wedding update. Well, even if you're not wanting one, I'll quickly spout one off for ya.

It started Friday the 4th. I got up, went to school for my lab - skipped my class part and came back to Mississauga. When back, I went to visit The Wood for a bit. Talked to Miss. Simtob, Mrs. BK, Mr. Mootrey, and Mr. Marijuana-vich (at least that's what Amy and I called him. lol) I've come to the conclusion that Miss. Simtob is a pretty nice person to get to know, if you dont have her as a teacher. She's great as a teacher and all, and I liked her as a teacher (at most times) but a much better person to talk with now.. Maybe the conversation is more casual.. I dont know, doesn't really matter. Mrs. BK was excited to see me. She hasn't seen me in a pretty long time, and she yelped when I stuck my head around the corner. I showed up to tell her that Kevin was getting married the following day, and she was utterly surprised that the day had come so soon. I told her I agreed.

So then after that, I went on my way to pick Christa up. We were to head to the mall because I asked her to accompany me to pick something up for Beth as a thank you for coming down from Port Elgin for the wedding. I just wanted to spend time with Christa, however, I used the excuse that I needed her help in picking something out.. God knows she'd never be caught out in public with me "just because". =P

The afternoon came, and went... (during that time, though, some amazing frozen yogurt also came and went... mmmmm.. strawberry pineapple...)

I got back home, and it was just about time to go to the rehearsal for the big day. The rehearsal was very relaxed and easy going. Everyone got their rolls to play, and we all went back to my house where both families were meeting for the dinner. Beth was there waiting for me! ahh.. what a sight for sore eyes.. and.. she cut her hair!!!!! you know, I didn't think I was going to like it cut short, but after seeing it like that, I'm questioning whether or not she's allowed (Yes allowed) to grow it back out again.. lol (and here I thought I was a sucker for long hair.. I mean, I still am - but it's Beth). hehehe

We all spent the night entertaining our soon-to-be family... had a pretty good time.. and it was early to bed (or not-so-early)...

got up the next morning.. Rich (my sister's boyfriend) Kevin, Beth, and myself all went out to Timmys/Wendys for lunch. Then it was off to the church. After checking about a billion times whether or not I had everything (my speech included). Then we were off! (I got out the door, and had to turn back to get my speech that I thought I already had.)

We got to the church, and our first order of business was to get changed into our fancy rags. It took *forever* to get the tux on.. Pants, shirt, vest, shoes, suspenders (yes, suspenders. They were covered by the vest, but I was wearing suspenders. lol) jacket, tie... Topped off with a pocket watch that my brother gave me as a best man gift the night before.

My bout.... boot.... booten........... 'flower' broke when this lady tried to pin it on me. I was upset about that. Just like Rich's did. And my Uncle's... it was bad. Not noticable because we pinned them in place, but still bad. Anyway, The rest of the wedding was very beautiful. During the signing of the registry, the hymn that can be heard in the middle of Gustav Holst's "Jupiter: The Bringer of Jolity" was heard. Such a beautiful piece.

We then made our way to a park/garden up on Kingston Road, east of Birchmont (or Birchmount, dont know). A very nice place, indeed. Had a really nice view of the water, a nice fountain / waterfall... It would be a beautiful place to spend an afternoon :).

Then the reception. Ok, for those of you who dont know because I haven't talked to you about it - the DJ was awesome. He introduced everyone and played enterance music for them (mine was Macho Man by the Village People... how'd he know???) My Uncle, the emcee, was introduced with the theme to Mission Impossible, which raised the spirits of the room just that much more. The speeches were great. I cant remember how many people came up to us (the minister and DJ included) and told us that they were some of the best, if not THE best, wedding speeches they've ever heard. The rest of the night was just a huge party. The cutting of the cake, tossing of the bouquet, removal of the garter (sp?)... just a really really fun time..

Oh yea, the DJ had My brother, my father, me, Rich, and Melanie's father up and took us out of sight where he preceeded to hand us village people costumes. Yes, he made us come out and dance out the YMCA. I was the cop, and was told by the DJ to be proud because he was the only straight one of the group. lol

That was almost as priceless as My sister, Lisa (another bridesmaid), Aunt, mother, cousin, and Melanie's mother being brought up, given sunglasses and blow-up guitars and told to dance out "You Shook Me All Night Long" by ACDC. I'm SO sorry I missed that - Beth and I went downstairs to check out the score of the hockey game.

And now, it's over 2 weeks later. I started this entry about a week ago, maybe more, and I just haven't had time to finish it. I've been SWAMPED. Work is taking up 12+ hours/day for me and I barely have time to breathe. Last night, for example, I didn't think I was tired. I layed down on my bed because my knee hurt at about 10:30. I must have immediately fell asleep. My father said he came in at 11:15, told me to get out of my clothes and take my glasses off. I didn't wake up until 5:30 this morning when I had to get up.. And I dont remember my father coming in last nite, that's how out I was.. Crazy.

The July 1st weekend looks like it's going to be good too. Erin is going up to camp in (or near, I cant remember) Port Elgin on the Thursday before the long weekend. I'm probably heading up that way on Friday to visit Beth for a few days *jumps up and down*...

I've got a few things planned for that weekend - but I wont write them here.. come on, I cant give them away!

I cant say,
that's not the right thing to do.
Do you really think that I'd give you a clue?
It is probably ok,
I know that's true,
this is just me having fun with you.

eat your heart out Dr. Seuss.

Until next time.......

I'm still working on that wedding entry...

does anyone else find it insanely funny that "Nutri-Grain" bars, which are to be 'low in fat' have 3g of fat for every 35g? that's 8.6% fat...

to relate that for you. according to McDonalds.com, a BigMac (which is supposed to be about 230g) has approximately 32g of fat, which is 13.9%....

so if a Nutri-Grain bar weighed as much as a BigMac, for the sake of easy rounding.. multiply by 7 to get 245g.. it would have 21g of fat...

think about it..

Until next time.......

Song of choice: Every Step Breath You Take - The Police

I need your help. And the best part is that you dont need to do anything.

Here's the deal. Now that I've got the pool open for the summer here, I'm sure as hell going to use it. Tonight I want to post a new section on this blog, and what that is going to hold essentially are my times. I need to start exercising my knees, and this is the only low-impact solution that I came up with.

They're bad. Or at least, they're getting worse. My right is able to work, but my left one is so bad that it's clicking with every step now.

Every step I take,
Every move I make,
Every single day,
I'll be feeling you.

I have to do something about it, and this is it!

Personally, I dont care if you look at that page.. lol.. I'm just putting it up as incentive to get out.

This will bring me back to my swimming days. I used to do competitive swimming. Despite my size, I used to be fairly good at it. At CITI meets, I never lost in freestyle, or backcrawl... Mostly because I was the only swimmer brave enough to attempt a suicide-turn.. (it's a flip-turn on your back). And always placed in breast-stroke and butterfly. I've still got my "Awards of Merit" sitting around somewhere... I think they're in a box in my closet. Teghan, my coach, tried to convince me to enter Tomac (never knew how to spell it correctly, so that's how it sounds). Basically what that was, was hyper-competitive swimming. At that point I was swimming 3 nights a week, and did it for 2 years I think... But if I went into Tomac, it was getting up before dawn, 3 times a week, working out for an hour, do laps for an hour.. then off to school. To any of you who know me... getting up early isn't really my specialty.

I was an active little bugger when I was a kid. I did baseball 4 times/week (2 games, 2 practices) in the summer, Swam 3 nights a week in the winter, and did english riding all year 'round. That's something I really want to go back to. I went on a western trail ride 2 years ago with Jenny, her sister, and a couple of their friends.. but it wasn't the same. I want to jump again. I want to field ride again... ahhh memories..

Anyway, I better get back to work... I started an entry about the wedding.. I'll finish it tonite hopefully when I put up the new page...

Until next time.......
