Excessive down-force during a shunt led to damage of a key suspension part resulting in flipping upside down and leaving a horrific wreck. According to The Prof getting help was no longer possible.
it's been a while.. might as well post some of my "want to see movies of 2007". As well as my opinion on some that should have just stayed in the can. So here goes nothing.......
I like the odd stupid comedy. But what I like even more than that is stupid comedy that makes references to movies that I've seen and like. Take Scary Movie 4 (two writers from that series did this movie) for example.. The Saw bit at the start with Dr. Phil and Shaq, and the War of the Worlds running gag.. I loved it. This movie takes X-Men, Nacho Libre, Snakes on a Plane, among many other movies... does it get better?
I'm a sucker for sequals (even if they're bad)... But I'm a sucker for them because I love seeing the characters come back and reprise a role. But come on - we dont need another story about Hannibal - If he's not even being played by Anthony Hopkins! Geeze... This movie is a prequel... But the Silence of the Lambs series has already had a prequel (Red Dragon), so in actuality, this is a prequel of a prequel. I think Hollywood has hit a new low.
This movie seems too good to be true. IMDB says it's a nice "boy-and-his-dog type movie for adults that will rip your heart out". Doesn't that say it all?
Ninja Turtles back? LOVE IT!!! back as CGI? eeh... I'm sure it'll be ok. I loved the live action movies as a kid - still do.. but just to see them back will be fun I think..
Kick ass! Spider-Man is back!!! When are we going to get another (good) Hulk movie???

Watched Rocky Balboa today... Here's what I thought.. no real spoilers (on the spoiler scale from 1-5, i'd give these a 1), but if you're really passionate about not knowing a thing about the movie... dont read...
It was slow for the first half, but then again most of the Rocky's were (except 3 and 4, which threw in a couple extra fights).. I'm finding it tough to get by the idea that these movies aren't "action" movies... They're usually more of a drama, with a kick-ass action sequence to climax it off with... But I'm starting to understand that..
People are trying to tell me that Rocky has a new love interest in this movie. I didn't take it that way at all. I took it as Rocky simply having a friend, helping someone out, and giving back to the people in his community in the way that he's most able to in this point in his life. Go Rocco!
The fight was freakin' awesome.. so much so that I downloaded the movie tonite just to watch the fight again. In Rocky's own words in Part 3 "You know, you move pretty good for an older guy..." He looked to be in fantastic shape, for a near 60 year old.
The training montage was modest. But what do you expect from a guy that's 60? I didn't want him doing sit ups while hanging off of a balcony like he did in Rocky 4, but I needed something a little more than pushups on a basketball, and deadlifting about a bazillion pounds...
Final gripe? There's no Rocky statue outside the museum in Philly!!!! Like, come on!!! I'd have to watch the movie again to see if they mention why... but I was disappointed by that.. It's like Rocky was all but forgotten...
If you're a fan, you'll like this movie. It steals from part 1 quite a bit, but Rocky is older and more mature and wise now... nice to see him come full circle, with (apparently) much learned.
Until next time....... *I didn't hear no bell*

George Carlin's take on the Ten Commandments
Have I mentioned how much I love George Carlin?

I've got a package coming to me VIA the criminals at UPS.
I checked the status of the package via the online tracking number because it should have been here Friday. It said "THE PACKAGE WAS MISSED AT THE UPS FACILITY, UPS WILL DELIVER ON THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY.
Now, this I kinda understand. It'll be delivered today. Good. But what does Missed at the UPS facility mean? I called them to find out. They had an option to track a package via the phone so I picked that, entered my tracking number, and this was their response in the nicest, most friendly tone that a computer could produce:
"Your package is currently on it's way to you."
really? hot damn, you're useful. And here I was expecting some vague response, instead you tell me that it's on it's way to me... like, wow..
Until next time....... *die UPS*

9:20:00 AM
decided i'm not going in today.
arg. I may have the option of getting another job with Bell soon.
My job right now basically consists of getting the phone line from outside of the house and literally drilling a hole in the side of the house and pushing the line in. Done. Move on to the next house.
It's boring. Whenever someone asks me if I like what I'm doing, I usually reply and say "I like it.. but it's not something I'd like to do as a career."
Currently I'm considered to be a technician. A "Pre-Dedicated Install Technician". I have the ability to do everything all the other techs do, such as fresh installs which include installing jacks and such.. basically the next step beyond what i'm doing now. I did this job for 6 weeks and liked it. but I dont do it anymore because the dude that I replaced came off of disability.
Regardless, I'm a technician.
I've been offered the chance to get another job as a fiber optic cable-puller. My old boss, the one that told me about the Alberta position, told me about this job. He's got a new job as a fiber optic technician, and I'd be a part of his team.
Pro's of taking the new job / Cons of leaving my current job
- I'll be indoors all winter instead of outdoors - I'll be dispatched to a job site instead of driving around trying to find one myself. - There's more opportunity for growth. - I'll be getting the same pay, hopefully. But I'll find out in a couple hours for sure. If not, I'll be earning $1.45 less per hour to start... - I'll be employed 5 days a week, steady, 8-5, with some opportunity of overtime, and overtime is NOT available where I am.
Pro's of staying where I am / Cons of not taking the new job
- I exhibit loyalty. - I get to keep my status as a technician. (basically, just a title.) - I'll have to give back my van and probably have to drive my own vehicle to the job site, which could be as far away as Ajax. I'll have to spend my own gas to get there, and get home. Anywhere I drive during the day, I get 35c/km though, which is good... but on a car that's 23 years old, that's just begging the next repair to come much faster than if I just drove it when i needed it, like I do now. - I get many more freedoms where I am now as far as me deciding how to spend my time.
Other random points
- There will be more structure to my day if i take the new job. I can already tell I'm getting lazy. When I started, I'd get up at 6:45 in the morning, hop in my car, drive to the office to grab the van and leave from there. Occasionally I'd take a 1 hour lunch, but but sometimes I'd skip it entirely to make sure I did enough work for the day. Now, I park my van at home.. which basically lets me leave whenever I want, as long as I get enough work done in a day. I take 1, 2, sometimes 3 hour lunch breaks. They want us to do 16 houses in an 8 hour shift. Where I used to work 9 hours to get 11 or so houses done in a day, now I can work 3.5 to 4 hours and get 20 done. I'm above revenue for the day, and I only work half of it. So I'm getting very lazy.
- I'll be leaving some guys I love working with. I use the term 'work with' lightly, I see them maybe once a day... But I'll be a part of a team at the new job rather than on my own....
I HATE DECISIONS!!!!
Until next time....... *???*

7:19:00 AM
I just had the most surreal dream ever. Most of my dreams are crazy, as Anna will tell you. They usually involve flying (as in me flying, not in an air plane.) The best way i could describe it is like a glider... I'll go into a nose-dive, pick up speed, and then pull up at the last second and get more lift. Recently the Skydome was a big dream-worthy thing for me (and sometimes flying around it... once, even, in a space suit.)
ok, now that you all think I'm crazy, the dream that i *just* woke up from doesn't involve any of that.
I was sitting there, right as rain. Everything was as it should be. To not let the people waiting for a 'crazy' aspect be disappointed, there was a terrorist ralley taking place in a non-existent park across the street from me. I went across the street and talked to the head 'talker' guy (kinda like you see Hitler in old war footage, talking to his Nazi peeps.)
I'm chatting it up with him, trying to gain a clearer understanding... and all of a sudden... Andrew shows up.
Great timing for him, huh?
Suffice to say, this caught me off guard. In my dream I was aware of his death. Everyone that knew him (we'll call this group 'the real world') was aware of his death... but it was funny, because 'the real world' knew he was dead and the accident had already happened, but from Andrew's perspective, it hadn't happened yet.. It was actually going to happen that night.
I'll give you a moment to re-read that paragraph if you need to.. it was a toughie to write.
*waits*
Ready? ok...
Andrew introduced himself to the head terror guy... Let's call him Freddy. So he talked to Freddy, and basically gave an overall disapproval of what was going on there. In only Andrew's way, of course. Mocking, making sarcastic implications, calling him a bastard.. it was all there.
Freddy seemed unphased.
Me? I was very, very phased. Still in awe that he's standing right there.
Long story short, Andrew basically said he was going to 'get' the Terrorists and made sure they regretted having their rally right across the street from me.
He walked back to his house (which was my neighbour's house) and hopped into his 'machine'. The "oh my god" look of the terrorist was priceless...
The point of Andrew's machine was basically to just hover around and make it look all mean, but in actuality do nothing at all... and just hope it scared the other guys.
This is when i started talking with him... He needed my help. My house was getting in the way of his machine, so we needed to.. um... 'modify' my house to allow it to work. What else do I do? I go ask mom if it's ok if I cut a chunk out of the side. She says no, obviously... but when i tell her it's for Andrew, she's puzzled, and goes to the door where he's waiting (much like how they met the first time when he came over to help me with my car for an afternoon).
Surprised, all she could say was 'sure', because it could 'always be repaired later'.
So I grabbed the chainsaw, and started hacking... for some reason, at one point we needed to move the cars out of the way. I got to move Andrew's car (which was a brand new 2006 Mustang GT btw).. And when I got out, I asked him where he was going that night. Somewhere along the line, I found out that the accident was going to take place that evening. Like, I knew this was the day.
So after I asked where he was going, he asked me "because of the accident, right?"
"How did you know?" I asked.
Apparently he had already talked to Jessica and, of all people, James, before he met up with me.
"oh.. Well are you still going to pick Chrissy up from work?" (it is my understanding that the accident took place after picking her up from work and they were on their way home. I'm not exactly sure if this is the case though.)
"Yea, I have to. How else will she get home?"
I tried to talk him out of it, knowing that the accident was going to happen that night. No dice. At least I talked him into taking the car and not the Bike... and to go at a different time.. But would fate catch up to him? This was a nagging thought in my dream. I mean, was he going to die regardless of the accident?
No matter. We continued work on my house..
After cutting parts away that shouldn't be there, he finally was happy that he could fly his little machine around (terrorists were no longer anywhere to be seen... the must have just been a fleeting thought in dream world). Then he left to get Chrissy.
I never found out if he survived the accident. But I didn't need to because I woke up.
Well, woke up in my dream anyway. (it was a dream in a dream.)
Still dreaming, I lived my life as usual, thinking that it was just another one of my crazy dreams. I was in touch with Jessica the day I woke up and I didn't bring it up to her. She seemed troubled. I asked why, and she said she had the most surreal night EVER.
"That makes two of us," I replied.
"You don't mean," she asked. I nodded.
Apparently she had dreamed about him last night too. (keeping in mind this is still in my dream). Under the same circumstances. The dream-world was aware that the accident had happened but from his perspective, it hadn't happened yet.
We talked for a bit about it. I said it was funny because in my dream he told me that he talked to her. She immediately asked me if he said any other names.. I said he mentioned it to James too. We ran inside her house to get to a computer to contact James to see if he had a similar night...
That's when i really woke up.
See what I mean by crazy? All of my dreams are this weird. But this one I thought I'd share because i had just had it, it was about Andrew, and it haunted me a bit.. I apologize if my thoughts didn't come through clearly, as I literally woke up, rolled over, turned on my computer and started to write. I'm glad I did, because I usually forget my dreams very quickly after waking up (hence the rush to get it out).
Anyway, now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to bed for 10 mins or so before I decide whether or not I'm going to work in the crappy weather today...
Until next time....... *moo*

Happy Birthday, Chrissy... =)
Diana Ross I Will Survive
At first I was afraid, I was petrified Kept thinkin' I could never live without you by my side Then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong And I grew strong And I learned how to get along
And so you're back from outer space I just walked in to find you here, with that sad look upon your face I should have changed that stupid lock I should have made you leave your key If I had known for just one second you'd be back to bother me
Go on now, go walk out the door Just turn around now 'Coz you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye? Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? Oh no not I, I will survive For as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive I've got all my life to live And I've got all my love to give I'll survive I will survive Hey hey
(I, I will survive) Hey hey (I, I will survive) Every day (I, I will survive) Oh yeah
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart Just trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart And I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself I used to cry, but now I hold my head up high And you see me, somebody new I'm not that chained up little person still in love with you And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free But now I'm savin' all my lovin' for someone who's lovin' me
Go on now, go walk out the door Just turn around now You're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye? Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? Oh no not I, I will survive Oh as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive I've got all my life to live And I've got all my love to give I'll survive I will survive Hey hey
Go now, go walk out the door Just turn around now 'Coz you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye? Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? Oh no not I, I will survive Oh as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive I've got all my life to live And I've got all my love to give I'll survive I will survive I will survive
(I, I will survive) Hey (I, I will survive) Every day (I, I will survive) Yeah yeah
(I, I will survive) Oh (I, I will survive) I will survive (I, I will survive)
(I, I will survive) I've got all my love to give (I, I will survive) I've got all my life to live (I, I will survive) My loving is not in vain, oh no
(I, I will survive) I will survive (I, I will survive) I will survive (I, I will survive) Hey
(repeat to end)
Until next time....... *I'll never forget*

life has been crazy. this post is going to be short then i'm going to bed.
I've been working extremely tiring days.. work slowed down a bit for a week but has picked right back up again. I came in today from work. Mom asked me to go to the bank, I did.. came back in time to eat dinner (at 9pm), talk to Anna for a bit and then go to bed. I've been falling asleep at night on MSN with Anna which makes me probably one of the worst nice boyfriends ever... I'll make up for it love.. i promise.
to all of you who have tried to get a hold of me... I apologize.. David, I got your email.. I haven't got any voice mails from you for at least a couple weeks so i dont know what messages you were talking about in the email... I haven't disappeared! I've just been busier than a Thursday night hooker. Check your email...
So this busy life of mine is about to get even more crazy... a big move (at least for the short term) may be in my future. I'll tell you all more when i know more.

this message goes out to nobody inparticular, but i was talking to a couple people on MSN today and i discovered a new pet peeve.
I fucking hate it when, at the end of a conversation, someone says they're gonna get going... ttyl or whatever.. and then leaves without giving you a chance to respond... it's not earth shattering, or rage-inducing like being the captain of the Enterprise would be if, when you beamed back aboard the ship, they decided to keep you in the transporter buffer and modify your anatomy. Although funny, that would be enough to make me go to my quarters and set the ship to self destruct...
Me, the awesome captain - "Computer, initiate auto destruct Kyle One-One-A." Computer with sexy bedtime voice - "Auto destruct sequence complete, awaiting final code." Me, the awesome captain - "Computer, input final code. Zero-Zero-Zero-Destruct-Zero."
Wow.. I first learned about this set a few months ago, and as Anna can attest, I've been lusting for it ever since. I need this box set, and I dont know if I can wait until Christmas!!!
November 28th, 2006 release date.

10:31:00 PM
so by now everyone has heard of the tragic events of the week. Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, has passed away during the filming of an episode of his TV show after being stabbed in the chest after swimming over a stingray and being stabbed in his chest by it's barb.
~ holy run on sentence, batman! ~
That's not the point of this post, however.
The events of the incident were, obviously, recorded. They were filming an episode of his show, so there was a whole camera crew there. As a result of this, some people are begging for that tape to be released.
In watching Larry King last night, a guy that was with Steve during it all said he remained alive and conscious long enough to actually pull the barb out of his heart... But do we, as the general public, really need to see that? I dont think so.
I relate it to Chrissy and Andrew's accident. After getting the call from Jessica about the events, I immediately flipped on the news to gather whatever information I could about the accident. Sure enough, within 20 minutes or so, I saw coverage of the street corner... and the bloody news idiots at CP24 actually showed Chrissy tied to a stretcher. I could see her face... and I'll forever have that image burned into my head... If that's the kind of reaction I had to seeing the couple seconds of what i did on CP 24, imagine watching a full video tape of the events surrounding the passing of the Croc Hunter...
So what do you think about the tape possibly being released?
